Kaleidoscope - Chapter 10

        CCRRAACCKK

           Sorry,did that disturb your thoughts?That was the sound of me breaking a aliens neck.I ran over to Black Widow(a.k.a Natasha).

  "How many more are coming?" Nat asked while tazing another alien.

  "Too much,where are the stations?"

  "Stark and Clint are up top.Banner and Thor are taking care of the West and North sections.Loki and Cap are taking the east.We get south."

      Great,we have the most active side.A laser zipped past my ear.

     Another neck broken.A large explosion broke in the sky.I guess Dad and Clint closed the portal.All the aliens around us collapsed.Loki and Cap suddenly appeared next to us.Loki walked over to me and engulfed me in a hug.

  "Are you okay?" Loki asked.

  "For now."

    Thor and hulk bounded over to us.Thor had a giant red spot on his cheek.Either Hulk kissed him....or Hulk punched him.Either one is fine with me.

    Dad flew down holding Clint by the strap of his quiver of arrows.

  "Now THAT was fun!" Dad yelled.Hulk and Thor nodding in agreement. Loki growled.Still holding my buy the waist.

  "What I want to know is why they came." Captain asked.

  "They want revenge." Loki replied.

    Captain nodded.A jet landed behind us.We turned and walked towards it.Loki stayed with me in the back.

   "OUCH!" Thor yelped.Loki looked down at me and I nodded.He let go of me and walked towards Thor,who had a giant thorn in his hand.

       I stayed in the back.Unaware of the only alien,that survived,walking behind me with a giant spear in his hands. 

              The footsteps grew louder as I kept walking with everyone else.I heard a loud growl coming from behind me.I slowly turned around.The alien pulled out the spear and it flew straight into my stomach.I collapsed.

  The last thing I heard was Loki screaming,"DESTINY!"

  The last thing I saw were the tears in Loki's eyes.

    I wanted to wake up so badly.I could hear the despair in his voice.It was so sad.The pain in my stomach was unendurable.I passed out a few times.The pain grew so much.I finally woke.

      "Welcome back."

         Loki's warm voice greeted me.My hands flew to my stomach as pain wracked through my body.I could feel my eyes shifting from different colors.Landing on Black.

      Loki stared at me.His emerald eyes staring back at my black ones.I could see Dad,Banner,and Clint standing around the room.Banner was standing next to Loki,staring at a monitor, probably checking my vitals.Dad was standing at the foot of the bed,smiling.Then frowning when he saw my black eyes.Clint was angrily shooting darts at a dart board next to Banner.

  "I'm sorry." Loki whispered,carefully sticking a needle into my shoulder.

    I woke again to find Loki writing on my hand with a green pen.I smiled and watched him for a while.He didn't seem to notice that I was awake.I flinched when he pulled the pen to my wrist.He pulled away quickly.

   "Oh,um,sorry.I just-um-got bored." 

  

   "Of course you did." 

  

     He smiled.Warming my heart.The pain in my stomach came back.Loki clenched my hand until it went away."Don't worry." he whispered.I knew Loki was searching my thoughts.I sent one out to him. What happened?

       Loki explained everything.I listened as best as I could.I heard dad walking down the hallway just as Loki finished.When he saw that I was awake, he walked over and stood next to Loki. He looked concerned.

  "W-we h-have some b-bad news." Dad swallowed "Your wound is m-most likely....f-f-fatal."

   

    I could hear the regret in his voice.Somehow,I accepted it.

  

   "Why?" Loki asked angrily.

  "It's poisoned by acid.We can't do anything about it without doing more damage to Destiny's body." Fury said,emotionless as he walked in.He was the LAST person I wanted to see right now.All the over Avengers walked slowly in behind him.

   Dad looked startled.He and fury started yelling at each other.I glanced down at my hand.Loki had written words in cursive.

   Fury finally made a point to dad and they stopped fighting.Banner shakely walked over to the monitor.

  "We have to take you off life support.It's making the acid spread farther." 

 "NO!!!" Loki and Dad yelled in fusion.

  "Yes." I moaned using the last of my energy.

  "Are you s-sure?" Dad whispered.

  "Yes,do it." 

  As Banner unplugged a few wires from the computer,I felt my life slip away.

  The very last things I saw were Dad and Loki looking at each other,excepting Fate.And the tears falling from Loki's eyes as he leaned down to kiss me for the last time.

  And I was Dead.
